At best, they might test it from 10 metres with nothing in between the adapter and the router. You know, most of those 300MB/s advertisements are based on the specification they're made to during manufacturing and most of them aren't truly tested in typical situations before being shipped out. I can't tell you how many there are out there that while they theoretically can receive 300MB/s, have such terrible signal dropoffs that in a realistic setting, they'll be receiving barely any of the advertised speed. Not all wireless adapters are born equally. How far are you away from the wireless access point/router?Īlso, just because your other adapter is capable of 150MB/s, it doesn't mean the new one is. How many people are connected to the same network? That 300MB/s you get, that's shared equally between users. I think its my router, however, since it's all the computers.) I have the same wireless adapter and am getting what I pay for, 20Mbps/2Mbps (Though it's been awfully shitty lately. A lot of people game on significantly less than that, and even in League of Legends and Starcraft, 11Mbps has absolutley no lag. Its literally impossible playing games on 11mbps, especially when this adapter is capable of 30x what its giving me.I'm trying to decide if you're trolling or not. Its literally impossible playing games on 11mbps, especially when this adapter is capable of 30x what its giving me. I've posted this on the netgear forums too, but no luck. Considering the moment i connect its anywhere from 200mbps-300mbps, then 5 seconds in its capped at 11mpbs, im sure theres some sort of block or cap or something, but i just dunno what to do or try. I bought this adapter a few days ago, and im at a complete loss.

This is surely not how its supposed to be, because this adapter is capable of picking up 300mbps speed, and my router is capable of dishing out 300mbps speeds, my other adapter connects with 150mbps to the same router.Īlso worth noting im using Windows 7 -64bit. After around 2 seconds of connecting, this drops to 80mbps, then after another 2 seconds, down to 11mbps, where it stays.

NETGEAR N300 WIFI USB ADAPTER NOT DETECTED HOW TO
I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue as I am currently at a loss on how to proceed and its starting to affect my work. I have tried switching usb ports multiple time I have tried turning USB power saving off and updating all drivers I could andįinally I tried purchasing a new WiFi USB adapter that I am sure is win 10 compatible and the problem still persists. This ONLY happens with my WiFi adapter and not with other USB devices I have connected such as my mouse, keyboard, mic or webcam. The only way I have found to temporarily fix the rapid disconnecting and reconnecting ( it lasts infinitely) is to shutdown my computer completely and wait a few seconds before powering back on. Random amounts of time (sometimes 30 min sometimes 6 hrs) will disconnect then try to reconnect rapidly literally every other second causing the windows USB device sound to also trigger rapidly. After I finished replacing the mobo and power supply a new issue popped up where my WiFi USB adapter after working for
